Description
Making your own Mango Habanero hot sauce at home is effortless. This particular hot sauce recipe boasts a sweet beginning and then packs a kick at the end. This makes a BIG batch of hot sauce – perfect for gifting at the holidays or canning!

- 1 rough chopped sweet or white onion
- 2 tbsp light cooking oil, like grapeseed or avocado
- 15 Habanero peppers, destemmed and deveined, roughly chopped
- 7 mangos, peeled, corred, and diced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp paprika – sweet, hot, or smoked
- 1 tbsp white pepper
- 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 cups distilled white vinegar
- 1/4–1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 tsp ground allspice
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
Instructions
- Sautee diced onions in oil over medium heat until translucent and soft. You can also sautee the habaneros to mellow the heat a bit.
- Combine onions and remaining ingredients in a food processor, and blend until smooth.
- Pour sauce into a large pan and bring to a simmer. Simmer until thickened, 10-15 minutes.
- Pour into airtight containers and store in refrigerator.
- Note: Always wear gloves when handling habanero chili peppers. The capsaicin oil in hot chiles can cause pepper burns on your skin or in your eyes that can last for hours.
